How To Install

DredMod is a 1.8.9 Forge Mod, so if you are already running that version, installing is as simple as dropping the DredMod file into the mods directory in your Minecraft folder. If you do not have Forge for 1.8.9, you can find it here.

How to use Dredlig's Paths

DredMod comes preloaded with Dredlig's public mining paths. To use one, you simply run /dred path <pathname>, and it will be enabled. Running /dred path will show you the list of path names that are available. When done with a path, you can run the same /dred path <pathname> command to toggle it off.

If you change servers and want to reset a path to its beginning, simply run /dred path <pathname> reset. If you want to pick up a path from where you are, rather than the current next point, run /dred path <pathname> next to update the next point.

How to create your own paths

Creating your own paths is straightforward. First create a new path using /dred path <yourpathname> create, then simply add points to your path with /dred path <yourpathname> add. Using the up arrow on your keyboard to recall the most recent command makes this fast and easy when adding multiple points. If you would like to name your points, you can add the label afterwards like this /dred path <yourpathname> add My Custom Point Name.

If you make a mistake, go to the point you would like to remove and run /dred path <yourpathname> rem to remove it.

Finally once your path is complete, you can save it using /dred path <yourpathname> save to store it in your config/DredMod/paths/custom.paths file in your Minecraft directory. Make sure to save your path before you exit the game!

If you would like to send it to a friend, you can run /dred path <yourpathname> export to copy it to the clipboard, and they can import (for short paths) with /dred path <yourpathname> import <copied path>. For paths with more than a few points they will need to add it manually to their custom.paths file on their system. Once they have added it to custom.paths, they can load the paths in-game by running /dred reloadpaths. You can also send your .paths file to them, and they can simply drop it in their config/DredMod/paths folder.

How to convert other paths to DredMod's format

You can convert paths from other coordinate systems using the Tools. Generally you would paste in the coordinates from the other system into the tool, and copy the converted result to paste into your own .paths file in config/DredMod/paths . Using a file name such as yourIGN.paths can make it convenient to share your paths with others.

Coordinates from some systems will be a little more complicated to import. If you are having difficulty converting points, one option is to load the path using the other mod, and then create a new path using DredMod's commands by visiting each point.
